For most folks in North Carolina, October 1st marks the start of all-things-fall, from pumpkin patches to pumpkin spice. But for High Pointers, October 1st reminds us High Point Market is just around the corner!
This year, we want to wish an especially warm welcome to all of our High Point Market friends – it’s been too long since we’ve seen you! Now, we want to help you find everything you’ll need to prepare for Market. Our friends at High Point Market Authority have gone above and beyond to ensure that Market can happen safely for both our guests and our citizens. And with new resources and updates, we thought it might be helpful to point you in the right direction for knowing what to expect this year at High Point Market.
High Point Market Authority has created a comprehensive microsite that includes all of the tips and best practices you’ll need for navigating High Point Market’s safety measures. From FAQs to registration details, to health information, you can find all you need to know here.
For our out-of-state visitors, remember to stick several face coverings in your luggage. The State of North Carolina issued NC Executive Order 147 requiring face coverings for individuals in indoor spaces and some outdoor spaces, so you’ll need to have your mouth and nose covered within the Market district as well as out in the community. If you want to learn more, you can read the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services guide to face coverings here.
To maintain social distancing and limited capacity, all Market guests are strongly encouraged to find their showrooms and schedule appointments ahead of time. You can use the “Exhibitor Search” feature on the High Point Market Authority website to see who has confirmed they’ll be open, select your showrooms, and connect with exhibitors in advance to schedule your appointments.
High Point Market Authority’s President and CEO, Tom Conley, gave a comprehensive overview of High Point Market Authority’s Fall 2020 plan. Check out the discussion here, and see all of the HPMKTsafe videos here.
No one wants to worry about travel logistics. That’s why High Point Market Authority makes all your travel planning simpler with their official travel concierge, Travel Quest Inc. Did you know there’s no fee for Travel Quest to reserve your hotel room for you? Also, be sure to review your pre-Market checklist – safety measures included – before heading this way.
High Point Market Authority is encouraging all guests to register before October 2 (tomorrow!) so they can mail your pass in advance and reduce lines on-site. So if you’re coming but have yet to tackle this important step, consider this one last reminder!
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services has all the information any visitors (or residents!) might need to know about the evolving situation or State’s response, including details regarding Governor Cooper’s reopening plan. Learn all you need to here.
With all the changes we’re seeing this year, we know one thing is staying the same: our appreciation for our Market friends and guests! Check back on our blog and social media for updates all October on where you can dine in High Point, outdoor spaces to relax in, and more messages from the City of High Point.
Keep discovering our High Points,
The HPD Team
