Hello, High Point Discovered friends. Hannah here (the writer behind these posts you’ve been reading.) And today, I want to take you on a tour through some of the best places in North High Point. As a lifelong native of High Point, who grew up close to downtown, I have a lot of childhood memories of places like the High Point Public Library, Triangle Park, Emerywood, and even the Rockspring post office.
While I love the center of our community, I also grew up journeying to North High Point to meet in the middle with many of my friends who grew up in Greensboro or Jamestown. And so much has been added to North High Point as it continues to grow and gain even cooler shops, restaurants, and treats. So join me today as we walk through a day in North High Point.
First thing I’d do on my way to North High Point would be to stop by High Point Bagels (formerly The Salty Bagel & Donut Company). PEOPLE, I cannot say enough good things about these bagels! I’m talking asiago cheese bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese that will make you weep tears of joy and swear you’re in Brooklyn.

While savoring the last delicious bites of my bagel, I’d head to Boho Blu to do some shopping. This is the kind of boutique that you can’t help but want to not only refresh your wardrobe, but your jewelry too. Their statement earrings add so much fun to any outfit – casual or professional. Such a great place to shop for gifts, thank you’s, and, of course, for yourself. And don’t forget to check out their sale section for some amazing deals.

Lunch time. And I’d definitely stop into Thai Bangkok, one of my absolute favorite places to get curry and a Thai tea. The drunken noodle will change your life. Just make sure if you’re not a fan of spicy you ask them for low spice.
To work off some of my food and get ready for dinner (yes, I am basically eating my way through North High Point), I may take a stroll through Gibson Park and enjoy the weather. When I’m ready for dinner, I’d have to head to Small Batch, the restaurant you might know as Burger Batch. You can make your own burger or go with one of their unique combinations, like the figgy piggy.
Gibson Park is a 200 acre park that pays tribute to the rifle makers who lived and worked in the Jamestown area during the mid 19th century. It has nine miles of the Bicentennial Greenway in addition to three miles of natural trails, two softball/baseball fields, two soccer fields and three shelters. | ZoZo Photography

Seeing as the atmosphere outside of Small Batch is so inviting, I’d probably make the people accompanying me sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Not to mention from outside you can smell the wafting sugary scent of… Duck Donuts. Everyone applauds these incredible donuts, and let me tell you, they are not overrated. This donut shop makes one-of-a-kind specialty donuts that will blow your mind. You can customize your donut with endless combinations of coatings, toppings, and drizzles, or go for one of their famous ones, like their maple bacon donut (as a girl who loves breakfast, I say yes, PLEASE!)
The idea and name for Duck Donuts originated in Duck, North Carolina, where the owner’s family and vacationed for many years. They noticed there was nowhere to get that sweet staple of happiness—a warm, fresh donut. That’s when Duck Donuts was created and is now not only in Duck, but right here in High Point any many other cities, offering warm, fresh and made-to-order donuts! | ZoZo Photography
Okay, at this point, the sun is setting on my day in North High Point and I feel like I’m going to explode from all the amazing food I’ve had.
But, if I had to visit one more place, I’d make my final stop at Uncle Cheesecake. This bakery was founded by a man on a mission to determine the perfect cheesecake recipe. And we think he’s gotten pretty darn close. Since I’m so full from the day, I’ll order a cheesecake to take home and share with my family (and maybe to snack on tomorrow.) But if you’re in North High Point you can’t miss the chance to go visit Uncle Cheesecake.
