August 6, 2018

Welcome to High Point Discovered.

I am really glad you are here. For those of you who have been following us, thank you for your support. And, for those of you who are new to our blog, I would like to extend a warm personal welcome. Many of you may be new to High Point (hello High Point University students and parents) so we thought this an ideal time to share our story with you.

What will you find?

Hidden gems. Hot spots. Great places to stay. Where to get the best blow-out. What to do on the weekends. Not to miss happenings. Those and dozens of other insider tips and tricks can be found here and on our companion Instagram feed of the same name @highpointdiscovered. We hope you will find us to be a trove of smartly curated information and beautiful images that help you cut through the ho-hum and get to the must-have and must-know of High Point!

Who are we and Why are we doing this?

As a life-long citizen of High Point, I was looking for a way to share the beauty, creativity and culture this city has to offer with others. After years of our phone ringing with countless questions about how to come to HP market and a long list of HPU student babysitters who thought they had to go to Greensboro to do anything, an idea was born. High Point Discovered was started in 2016 as an Instagram page to celebrate the best High Point has to offer, shining a light on businesses and people who make this city so unique. Two years later, it has evolved into a lifestyle blog with a dozen or so team of contributors who found the idea contagious and enthusiastically joined in (see more about them in the box to the right).

Our Goal

Is to create and curate a beautifully rich lifestyle guide on all things High Point: profiling the Who, the What and the Where of this great city we call Home.  It’s unabashedly our point of view, especially on the creative life of this community, inspired by forward thinkers and visionaries.

What’s in it for you?

Consider us a space to learn more about the creative minds that have the passion and energy to turn thought into reality and therefore are shaping not just our community but our world.  With beautiful imagery, unique stories, and more, we are highlighting business and personal profiles, sharing the vision of community leaders, providing HP Market how-to guides, giving HPU families an insider-look and so much more.  It will be a destination for locals and visitors alike with the tips and tricks you need to enjoy this city to the fullest.

A special message for our High Point University families:

Over the next two weeks we are going to be sharing things with YOU specifically in mind (we are talking to you HPU parents and students). We encourage you to check back and share with others.
