We’re feeling it in the air… That springtime itch that says the days are only going to get warmer and longer from here! After a long season of being cooped up inside, we’re so ready to be outside these days. And what better way to get outside and soak up some sun than to enjoy some of the beautiful parks in High Point?

Maybe you need a place to take the whole family on a Saturday for some quality time to laugh, toss a frisbee, or share a picnic. Or that birthday party you’ve got coming up in a few weeks? Why not schedule it at one of the picnic shelters, and set up some cornhole and games for everyone to enjoy? Or maybe you just need to take a relaxing lunch break, unplugged and outside.

Oak Hollow Festival

The Oak Hollow Festival Park is an 1,500-acre complex surrounding the 800-acre Oak Hollow Lake. This park is filled with activities that are sure to keep you busy all day long. Oak Hollow features lake activities such as kayaking, fishing, canoeing, and much more. The park includes an outdoor stage for various community events, picnic shelters, a marina and playground that the kiddos will love! The park is open from sunrise to sunset and is located at 1841 Eastchester Dr.

Armstrong Park

This park is the ideal blend between the all natural and the manmade. At Armstrong Park, you can enjoy nature by walking through the park’s shady trail that includes creeks on its path. But it also has picnic areas and athletic fields/courts in case you want to get some outdoor exercise. The park is located at 305 E Pkwy Ave.

High Point City Lake Park

This year-round park is a great spot to spend quality time with family and friends. The park is filled with fun activities such a carousel, excursions boats, miniature golf course, swimming pool, a train and so much more! And what would a park be without a classic playground? High Point City Lake Park boasts one of the biggest playgrounds in the city. Perfect for parties and gatherings, the park even offers concessions stands and grills to grab a bite to enjoy under their shady picnic shelter. Located 602 W Main Street JamestownNC 27282.

Hedgecock Park

Parks are great places for the family and friends, but we can’t forget… our dogs! Hedgecock Park is dog-friendly so your furry friends can be included in the fun. This park is on the smaller size, which means you get a quiet and peaceful area for you and your family to enjoy. They have have a playground and baseball field to top of the list of fun, warm-weather activities. Located at 300 W Parris Avenue High PointNC .

 

Washington Terrace Community Center

Washington Terrace Community Center features a recreation room and meeting space for the community to gather, so it’s great for any group activity you might have lined up. Their shady playground allows for the kids to enjoy some outdoor time in the shade throughout these warm, spring days. The park also has a pool, basketball court, and grills so you can cook up some yummy hotdogs and burgers to top off your outdoor day with a cookout! Located at 101 Gordon Street  High PointNC.
