A View On: Dr. Lee Bass Nunn, DDS

They say that nothing you wear is more important than your smile… We don’t know who “they” are, but we have to agree! A smile can light up a room, make someone feel loved, and express the joy you feel. That’s why it’s so important to take good care of it. And fortunately for the residents of High Point, we have talented men and women dedicated to caring for the health of our teeth!

One such talented woman is Dr. Lee Bass Nunn. With more than 20 years of experience in private practice dentistry, and the legacy of her father who practiced dentistry for more than 30 years, Dr. Nunn is committed to providing her patients with quality dental care. We got to hear a little bit more about Nunn Dentistry from Dr. Nunn herself.

Q. Tell us about your practice in about 10 words.

A. My staff and I are committed to building lasting relationships, improving the quality of life, self-esteem, and overall health of our patients.

Q. What is one thing people would be interested to learn about your practice?

A. “It takes a village” truly does describe my staff! Each and every one of them goes that extra mile for our patients to make life easier. They have taken patients home, taken children back to school, fed patients that missed their lunch, attended weddings and birthday celebrations, just to mention a few… Not to mention what they do for each other.

Q. What do you love about your work?

A. IT. IS. ALL. ABOUT. THE. SMILE! Besides working with 5 wonderful women, I genuinely enjoy seeing my patients mature, grow-up, and in some cases, come back with children of their own. A close second would be seeing patients that I have mentored choose to pursue a career in the dental industry.

Q. What are the highlights and challenges of working in High Point?

A. A definite highlight is being able to see my father, mother, brother and sister-in-law. My father, a retired dentist, makes an appearance most every day, and my mother is not far behind. This is a treasure.

Q. Why did you choose to locate your office in High Point?

A. I was raised in High Point, and at the time (1995) it made the most sense. My father was and continues to be my mentor and working with him was an opportunity I did not want to miss.

Q. How has High Point changed since you started your practice?

A. The steady growth of High Point University and the future revitalization of the downtown area have both been game changers.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

A. I would have to say balancing my multi-dimensional life. Trying to successfully balance being a wife, parent, employer, friend, and caregiver is certainly a daily challenge. I cannot say that I have successfully overcome the struggle, but I have surrounded myself with an incredible support group.

Q. What is on the horizon for you?

A. Still pondering…

Q. If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out in High Point, what would it be?

A. Embrace your community and become involved.
